The Nova Project

Set in the coastal landscape of Weiti Bay, this 450m² home was designed by Alchemy to capture the clarity and understated luxury of modern New Zealand living. The site’s natural beauty shaped the architecture, guiding a design that feels spacious, calm, and closely connected to its surroundings.
The floor plan was created for a family wanting both ease and refinement. It includes four well-scaled bedrooms, three considered bathrooms, a high-end kitchen with a full scullery, a formal lounge for entertaining, a separate media room, and a private office. An integrated double garage completes the functional layout.
Light, proportion, and flow were key design drivers. Materials were selected for their simplicity and longevity, resulting in a modern aesthetic that feels grounded rather than showy.
Outdoors, a streamlined lap pool becomes a central visual feature, drawing the eye through the living areas toward the bay. The relationship between the clean architectural lines and the still water creates a sense of continuity and calm — a true reflection of life in Weiti Bay.
